The Holocaust
The Holocaust began in 1933 and took place during WWII. Nazi Germany was led by Adolf Hitler who believed that Germans were ¨racially superior¨ and Jews were ¨inferior¨. Hitler did not only think Jews were inferior but anyone who simply did not fit the traits of the Aryan race. People who did not fit the criteria for this race were taken into concentration camps by Nazi Soldiers. Where they were forced to work, and live in brutal conditions until they were eventually executed in Gas chambers. By the end of the Holocaust about 6 million Jews were killed and 5,000 Jewish communities were destroyed. Today the Holocaust remains as the largest genocide in history.

If we held a moment of silence for every victim of the holocaust, we would be silent for eleven and a half years.
